The GIFF - The Georgian Irish Film Festival
The description of a young nation with a long history of conflict whose society is built on the cornerstones of family values, religion and politics, with a long literary and musical tradition and whose people are renowned worldwide for their lively conversation lubricated with generous amounts of alcohol can be applied equally to Georgia and Ireland.
The purpose of the GIFF is to explore these cultural parallels by show casing some award winning Irish feature and short films that will explore topics that will strike a note with Georgian society and at the same time give an opportunity for Georgian filmmakers to display their work to an international audience.
